Dear Members,

Welcome to 2026! We start the year with our warmest wishes for the coming months, and an optimism for promoting an increasingly visible message of hope into the general national consciousness. A wealth of knowledgeable and committed parties are working hard to show how a good life for all doesn’t have to cost the Earth, and WEAll England will be right along side them.

The headlines for this Newsletter:

Don’t forget our dedicated England Hub page on the forum for general discussions and idea sharing.

Current topics in detail:

Reclaim The Economy Week & Hub Launch – 26th Jan to 1st Feb

The Launch primarily consists of a social media campaign announcing our presence, pointing to our updated website, and encouraging people to sign up and join the conversation. We will also be posting Reclaim The Economy Week content (including link to a petition) as well as some of our original material. Please do tag us @weall_england in your #ReclaimTheEconomyWeek posts and we will be sure to share them.

We are also working hard to pull together a super-special webinar to be held in the week, but details are not quite ready to be announced yet! TBC…

Webinars

Last month’s webinar ‘Psychological Safety – aka the Superpower’ with Dr Vikki Barnes was an enormous success, and the YouTube recording is proving very popular. As well as the January TBC webinar, we have one more in the pipeline:

February (TBC, late in the month) ‘Food Systems’ with Charlotte, Nicola and Henry

‘This webinar explores how food systems can be a powerful building block of a wellbeing economy, shaping healthier communities, fairer access, and stronger local prosperity

If there is an organisation or topic you would be keen to present, feel free to make a suggestion on the forum or by email.

Within Our Network

Trust Links, a local independent charity aiming to improve mental health, wellbeing and the environment in Essex, were the first guest presenters in our ongoing webinar series. We were awe-struck at the energy and impact they have been bringing to local communities in their area, and are now delighted to share some fantastic news with you. Trust Links are making their insights and experience available through the Let’s Grow Together – Online Therapeutic Community Gardening Course, starting this March. Anyone interested in starting their own local project is strongly encouraged to find out more detail here!

If you also have something you would like us to share in the newsletter, please do get in touch.

All Party Parliamentary Group – Meeting Minutes

Held on Oct 22nd and titled ‘Wellbeing, growth, and the public finances’, the first meeting of the Wellbeing Economics APPG since 2021 has had its slides and minutes released here. Initial review reveals much talk of ‘profit’, ‘benefit/cost ratios’ and ‘does happiness matter when it comes to voting’. Also presented is a paper titled ‘Workplace Wellbeing and Firm Performance’ with statistics illustrating the statement ‘Greater employee wellbeing is tied to higher company valuation, higher return on assets, and greater profits’.

Please do make yourself known through the usual channels if this APPG’s activity is something you feel well placed or particularly motivated to analyse.

New Economy Index & Fertile Ground Report

From January onwards, WEAll England will start to support data collection for the ‘England’ section of this important index. Does your organisation appear on the ‘England’ filtered list? Are all the details complete and correct?

The index is associated with a report into the ‘New Economy Ecosystem’, listing 10 ‘Insights and Recommendations’. One of them, ‘FINDING #5:The field remains fragmented, but bridges can unlock potential’ speaks directly to the ‘Alliance’ part of WEAll, and much useful detail is presented for us to digest.

Website & Team Updates

In preparation for the launch, our page on WEAll’s global website is undergoing significant revision and upgrades. One of the early updates is a Team section with photos of all of us that have been sending you these newsletters – except one. Scherto Gill has decided to step back from the Steering Group due to an increasing level of commitments elsewhere, but remains a valuable and present supporter. Her input has been an absolutely integral part of the fabric of the hub as it now stands before you, and the legacy of her insights will persist as it moves onwards and upwards. We were blessed recently when Scherto managed to secure a very convivial meeting space at the Guerrand-Hermès Foundation for Peace that she works so closely with, leading to the opportunity to have this photo taken (by Stewart Wallace, Co-chair and Trustee of Wellbeing Economy Alliance, and connoisseur of the visual pun):

‘FINDING #5:The field remains fragmented, but bridges can unlock potential’ (yes, we are standing on a bridge!)

With our warmest wishes and optimism for the future,

(L to R) Nigel, Scherto, Conor, Vikki, Orla, Phil and Oliver
