We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Lebohang Liepollo Pheko as Co-Chair of WEAll with myself as of October 1st, 2025.
As WEAll transitions from a largely minority world focused organisation to a true global organisation, we have recognised that having two Co-Chairs, rather than a single Chair, is the appropriate governance structure. This new model reflects our commitment to shared leadership and to ensuring diverse voices are at the heart of our movement.
Liepollo brings a wealth of relevant lived and practitioner experience to WEAll. Born in Zambia to activist parents, she has roots in Lesotho , South Africa and spent 16 years in the United Kingdom where she lived through Thatcherite austerity. She is a world-renowned feminist economist and scholar of international political economics , activist, and international movement builder and has worked across 52 countries to date. She is passionate about using systems thinking , and Africa-centred and feminist aligned solutions to generate global impact. As a long-standing ambassador for WEAll, she has been a powerful advocate who believes that a transition to a wellbeing economy is central for restorative and reparative justice.
The team and I feel very honoured that Liepollo is joining me as WEAll Co-Chair.
