Online Community FAQ

Introduction

WEAll strives to bring together and promote meaningful connections and opportunities for our Alliance across continents. We currently have over 3,000 members in our WEAll Citizens open online community,, and we are currently revamping our member experience.

On 27th March 2023 we will be sunsetting our current online community platform, WEAll Citizens. The timeline below shows our next steps.

What is the timeline for this transition?

  • Feb 13, 2023 – New users will no longer be able to sign up for WEAll Citizens.
  • March 13, 2023 – Content will be made read-only, so existing users won’t be able to share new content on the platform.
  • March 27, 2023 – Citizens Platform will be shut down and existing users will no longer be able to login.
  • April – June 2023 – We will be inviting members from our Alliance to test and give feedback on alternative  platforms
  • June-August 2023 – Set up of the new platform and onboarding of existing user groups (in stages).
  • September-October 2023 – The new platform will be available for new users to sign up.

If anything changes with our timeline, we will update it here.

As an existing user, what will happen to my account?

You will have until March 27, 2023, to access content on the Citizens Platform. Until that date, you will be able to read all posts, news and events, and also search for users in the Citizens directory.

After that, logins will expire and you will no longer be able to access the Citizens platform.

Members will still be able to use Slack normally, as before.

We will keep you up-to-date about progress through our newsletter. As per the above timeline, we will invite members from the Alliance to test and give feedback on alternative platforms and let everyone know when the new platform is ready for launch.

As a new user, can I still sign up for the Citizens Platform?

Not at this time. We appreciate your interest and thank you for your patience as we navigate this transition to improve our online member experience. As shown in the timeline above, we will be testing a range of new platforms and making a final decision in the coming months.

While we’re not currently accepting new registrations to the existing platform, we would love to keep in touch with you in joining our new platform. Please fill out the form on our website so that we can let you know as soon as it’s launched.

Why is WEAll transitioning to another platform?

We have had feedback from several members of our Alliance, including our own Amp Team, that the current platform was not meeting their needs. We require one unified platform where the entire community can interact, connect, exchange and collaborate.

We have started a six-month process of in-depth research with hundreds of people in our Alliance to understand how we can serve them best. Check out the timeline above for more details.

What is the new platform going to be?

We will be testing a range of platforms over the coming months and asking for feedback from a representative sample across the Alliance.

The long-list of platforms under consideration all prioritise multiple languages, integration with other services, strong autonomy for users, running on Open Source software. This will enable our new solution to continuously adapt to our Alliance’s needs over time.
