Dear Members,
With your support, the England Hub is progressing well towards a formal launch to coincide with the global week of action ‘Reclaim The Economy‘ in the last week of January 2026. The news in brief:
-
Our first webinar was a great success! See below for the details of the next one
-
Please contact us with suggestions of activities for Reclaim The Economy that you’d like to be involved in
-
The Hub Working Groups are preparing themselves to invite new members, see below for more info
-
The Hub’s logo is primed to feature a rose rather than the St George’s Cross, to be shared soon
Don’t forget our dedicated England Hub page on the forum for general discussions and idea sharing.
Current topics in detail:
Pre-Launch Webinar Series
Thank you to everyone that engaged with the discussions during our first session with Trust Links, there were some truly valuable insights and learnings presented that can be directly applied elsewhere around the country. We are so grateful to them for their input. The next session is:
Nov 4th, 12pm ‘Growing Community Wealth’ with Orla McCann (register at this link)
‘Unlimited Potential shares Salford’s approach to growing community wealth and addressing health inequalities. We will hear how co-production between local people and agencies can create solutions for a fairer, greener and healthier economy’
Upcoming webinar (note date change)
Dec 5th, 12pm ‘Psychological Safety – aka the Superpower’ with Dr Vikki Barnes (register at this link)
If there is an organisation or topic you would be keen to present, feel free to make a suggestion on the forum or by email.
WEAll England Working Groups (WGs)
As shared in last month’s Newsletter the WGs are primed to become a key part of the effectiveness of our Hub, the Local Authorities WG had it’s initial meeting this week and is already making fantastic progress! It has taken a huge amount of time and effort to make contact with everyone that’s expressed an interest. We’re confident we have managed to invite people to WGs that will allow them to work on activities they are passionate about, but of course there is always flexibility and the key word is ‘volunteer’.
If you have not been contacted but have previously expressed interest, please contact us again as we are sure some of the messages have slipped through the cracks (for which we apologise)!
All-Party Parliamentary Group on Wellbeing Economics
An APPG dedicated to ‘Improving population wellbeing through evidence-based policy’ has been reconstituted within the last few months (it was originally set up in 2009). Chaired by Peter Lamb MP, Co-Chaired by Lord Gus O’Donnell, Vice Chairs are Baroness Claire Tyler and Sir Jeremy Hunt MP. The website lists a further 16 members, of which 7 have titles of either ‘Baroness’ or ‘Lord’ (all others are ‘MP’). This feels significant.
New Economy organisations in Europe
A directory of ‘700+ organisations united by a common purpose: transforming economic systems across Europe’ has been launched in an early form here. Filtering it by country ‘UK – England’ we see well over a hundred organisations (including WEAll England) working towards transforming economic systems. Not everyone is listed and not everyone’s entry has detailed information, but there is an explicit invitation to provide suggestions, updates and feedback before the ‘full’ version is prepared. Why not share the link with people in your network that may like to be listed?
Looking forward to seeing you at the next webinar!
With our warmest wishes and optimism for the future,
Conor, Nigel, Oliver, Orla, Phil, Scherto and Vikki
